Today you turn three! Three!! You are no longer a baby, you are a little man now. Where has time gone? It feels like yesterday we brought you home from the hospital and started our journey to parenting. I still can’t believe they trusted US to leave the hospital with you. I remember that feeling quite vividly. The feeling that we were now responsible for a little baby boy’s well being. We were responsible to nurture you and keep you safe. Oh, how we cherish those moments as brand new parents! Being your parents has been one of the most rewarding things we have been blessed with. View full post »
Sierra Vista is one of my favorite wedding venues in Bedford, VA. When Hoa asked me to photograph her engagement session at Sierra Vista, I couldn’t have been more excited.
Although the weather had been pretty cold in the days leading up to the session, the day of the shoot was unbelievably warm, and the light was amazing too. Needless to say, the mountain background didn’t disappoint this time either. The Blue Ridge Mountains make the views at this outstanding wedding venue in Bedford to die for! View full post »

We are selling our cute little house pictured on the right, and moving to Northern Virginia!!
It’s crazy! We are days away from packing up our lives and moving across the state. It still hasn’t hit me that by the end of the week we’ll be living in a whole different city, a few hours away from Lynchburg. While we are excited about the move, this is a huge step for our family!
It hasn’t been an easy decision to make, but we feel that this is where we are supposed to go next. Tim has accepted a job as a youth pastor at Heritage Baptist Church in Ashburn, VA. We cannot wait to meet the teens there and get to know them better and serve them! 2017 is going to be a fun year! View full post »

A letter from my husband:
If I could sum up what being married to a photographer is like in one word, it would have to be blessed. I am not going to lie, there are a lot of words that come to mind, but this one is true to the heart. I am blessed to be married to my awesome wife, who has taken her incredible, creative gifts and used them for the benefit of others. She literally gets joy out of capturing other people’s most-precious moments and that speaks volumes about the kind of lady she is and the character that she possesses.
To be straight-forward, I never really thought much about the work photographers do when I saw them at events throughout my life. Not that I had anything against them, I just simply never stopped to think about how much effort really goes into their work. It was not until my wife started doing photography at a professional level that I saw View full post »

Ashley Grace is one of the most exquisite bridal shops in the Lynchburg area. Their designer
wedding gowns are absolutely amazing, it makes me want to try them all on!! They are literally some of the most beautiful wedding dresses I have ever seen… and, as a Virginia wedding photographer, I have seen a lot of wedding dresses so far.
What I love the most about Ashley Grace Bridal is the that they work exclusively with some of the most amazing wedding dress designers in the industry. They are amongst the very few wedding dress stores in Central Virginia that feature dresses from well known designers, such as: Justin Alexander, Lillian West, Stella York, Maggie Sottero, and Rebecca Ingram. One of the questions I get asked the most is what kind of photography gear I use. I remember when I was first starting out, I looked and asked for guidance from other photographer friends. As I got more established in my photography business, I was able to figure out the kind of camera and lenses I needed for my style. Below is a list of some of my most trusted camera equipment!
Nikon D810– If you are shooting weddings, this camera is a beast in low light situations. The only negative is the size of the files. They are huge! However, this is my all-time favorite camera and I would recommend it to anyone looking to invest in a higher grade professional camera. It has a dual card slot which requires a SD + CF card.
