I am so excited to share our wedding in Europe with you all! If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that we had not one, not two, but THREE weddings.
That’s right! Tim and I met on a missions trip in Romania, where I grew up. We started dating, and in between his visits to Romania and my visit to the States, there were a lot late night/early morning Skype conversations. Also, let’s not forget View full post »
As unpopular as they may be, winter weddings are nothing less than magical. In the early winter months especially, the air just feels like romance, and the snow falls like people in love.
To set winter weddings apart from the other seasons, there are a number of trends that I’ve been seeing that make me want to recommend everyone get married in the winter. After witnessing the following trends, our heads at Ever After are spinning with ideas! View full post »
Some Northern Virginia family photos are due for this little family of mine. Until then, I wanted to share these adorable pictures my friend Sherry Conrad took of my sweet family. Ever since Sherry took miss Emma’s newborn pictures, I was hooked.
I am the kind of person that generally prefers outdoor sessions, but now we do at least one studio session for our family every year. If I know that we will all be in Lynchburg for more than a day, I make sure to text Sherry and see if she happens to be available. Thankfully, everything worked out this time and she was able to squeeze us in last minute. Thank you, friend! View full post »
The Year In Review post is definitely one of my favorite blog posts to share each year! It is so much fun to put together and I always get a good laugh out of it. Some of the behind-the-scene photos my second shooters take of me throughout the wedding season are hysterical! But I will let you see for yourself :)
2017 has been the best year yet! This year I had the privilege of photographing some of the most amazing couples and their phenomenal weddings. I started and ended my wedding season with a Glencliff Manor wedding, which I thought was really neat. It doesn’t happen very often to open and close a wedding season at the same wedding venue! Some days I dream about being a Cancun wedding photographer! I wouldn’t mind going back to Mexico to photograph a wedding…or two :)
We had been planning to go on a family vacation for a while. When you have two little ones, you know the chances of making that happen are very slim. Ha! However, this year we really went all out. We booked a 7 day vacation in Cancun, Mexico. And it was amazing!! So much so, that while we were still there, we started making plans for coming back next year.
My wedding season is finally slowing down just enough for me to edit our family vacation photos and I am so excited to finally have them up on the blog! View full post »
Ever since I photographed my first Patrick Henry wedding last year, I secretly dreamed about photographing another wedding there one day. When Hoa contacted me about her wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited. She picked some of the best wedding industry vendors for her big day and I was beyond excited to work with them.
Vicki Itson with Simplicity Event & Wedding Planning made sure that Hoa and James’ wedding day ran flawlessly from beginning to end. Mary Jo from Gloriosa created the most spectacular bridal bouquets that were simply a dream to photograph. Pumpernickel Pickle served the most delicious food. Sarah from Fresh Baked Bakery created an outstanding dessert table. And, just as a side note, she also made the best macaroons I have ever tasted! View full post »
Are you looking for blog post ideas for your slow season? This post might be for you! ;)
If you are a wedding photographer, your wedding season has most likely ended or is coming to an end very soon. For most of us on the east coast, the winter and spring months are less busy than summer and fall. The temperatures are too low for couples to have that beautiful outside wedding every southern girl dreams about.
So, if you have already blogged all of your client work, what do you blog about during the slow months?! Or, do you even blog at all?!
I’m glad you asked! View full post »
There’s nothing like a fall Virginia wedding! Especially when the wedding takes place at Sorella Farms. There’s just something magical about the Blue Ridge Mountains, pretty fall colors and a beautiful barn wedding venue.
One of my favorite things to do is to listen to my couples’ love stories. I love hearing how they met, how the groom proposed and all the little things in-between. On their first date, Casey and Brandon hiked the Sharp Top mountain and it started to snow. I mean, that doesn’t happen on anyone’s first date, does it?! To top it off, they got engaged in Central Park (NYC) in a horse drawn carriage last December. Brandon certainly outdid himself with that one. View full post »
I’ve been waiting to share Devin and Matt’s Central Virginia wedding for a while! Truth be told, when they say that October is to photographers as April is to accountants, they are not joking. Not only that, but for me, November proved to be even busier than October. For that reason, the blog got a little neglected because I was working hard behind the scenes to deliver all the beautiful weddings I photographed in the past few weeks.
I am glad to report that the very last wedding of this season has been uploaded to my bride and groom’s personal gallery and I can now share this gorgeous View full post »
I am so thrilled about Micah and Andrew’s Skyline Drive engagement photos! When Micah emailed me, I knew I would absolutely love working with her. I soon discovered that Andrew and I shared the same birth country, Romania. As if this was not already exciting enough, soon after their engagement session I found out that my husband, Tim, and I had actually known his family for years. It’s funny how life works that way!
Andrew and Micah are both UVA students. Andrew is in graduate school and on the wrestling team, and Micah is in the medical school. Since they are both View full post »
