As unpopular as they may be, winter weddings are nothing less than magical. In the early winter months especially, the air just feels like romance, and the snow falls like people in love.

Unplugged weddings are always a hot topic in the wedding industry. Some love them, some don’t. As a photographer, I believe that guests should be more present during the ceremony instead of hiding behind their devices. There’s nothing more obstructive than blocking the groom’s view of his future wife walking down the aisle with phones, cameras, etc. Today, I am happy to have Jenna from Nations Photo Lab talk about this subject on the blog. If you haven’t heard about Nations Photo Lab before, they are a full-service, high quality printing resource based in Baltimore, MD that specializes in photo prints and gifts. Make sure to check them out! View full post »

Ashley Grace is one of the most exquisite bridal shops in the Lynchburg area. Their designer
wedding gowns are absolutely amazing, it makes me want to try them all on!! They are literally some of the most beautiful wedding dresses I have ever seen… and, as a Virginia wedding photographer, I have seen a lot of wedding dresses so far.
What I love the most about Ashley Grace Bridal is the that they work exclusively with some of the most amazing wedding dress designers in the industry. They are amongst the very few wedding dress stores in Central Virginia that feature dresses from well known designers, such as: Justin Alexander, Lillian West, Stella York, Maggie Sottero, and Rebecca Ingram. Where do I even start?! Sorella Farms is one of my absolute favorite barn wedding venues around and I love, love, LOVE working with the staff there. I always refer to them as my Sorella family because I’ve grown to love them so much that they have become more than just industry peers to us. This past year I had the privilege of photographing five amazing weddings at Sorella Farms and all of them have been picked up for publication. I couldn’t be more thrilled!!
What I love the most about last wedding season’s weddings at Sorella is that none of them are alike. They are all so different and unique, yet beautiful in their own way. I have compiled a slideshow of some of my favorite photos I took this season and I cannot wait for you to see it. View full post »
This year I had the honor of photographing not one, not two, but three weddings at the beautiful Glencliff Manor in Rustburg, Virginia! And they ALL got to be published on one of the leading blogs in the industry!
I get so excited every time my couples are featured on a blog or in print. I’ll have to admit that this year I have been a little behind with submitting weddings for publication. I was also pregnant for most of this year, so time just got away from me and wedding season was so full and busy that I never got around to doing it.
However, a few weeks ago I got an email from one of the leading wedding blogs asking to feature not one, not two, not three… but ELEVEN of the weddings on my blog. Needless to say, I was stoked when Borrowed and Blue reached out to me!! Today I am going to share the first three weddings that got featured on Borrowed and Blue: View full post »
You are in for a major treat today! Our friends from Bridal Style Inc. are talking about trends in wedding accessories on the blog today. From bridal belts to hair pieces, here’s everything you need to know when it comes to choosing the perfect wedding accessories for your big day.
In the past few years, bridal accessories have evolved to a must-have collection of choices for every bride. No longer simply a blue garter and a veil in the length that best suits your wedding gown, the humble wedding accessory becomes part of the overall theme of the day and enhances the look of the bride and her bridesmaids. Beautiful metallic hair combs and embellished wedding gown sashes can make a simple look stunning. View full post »
It’s been a while since I have written a post for my dear brides. The wedding season is in full swing right now and I get to blog a lot of beautiful weddings these days. However, I know that some of you ladies are still in the planning process for your big day and I wanted to share a quick tip with you that will come in handy when you mail out your wedding invitations.
We have 4 weddings in the Thomas family this year, and I’ve learned a lot about some of the things brides struggle with when it comes to planning their wedding. One of them is guests that mail their RSVP card without filling in their names. It’s not a big deal if you get one or two cards that are missing the guests’ names, but when you receive a couple dozen of those, it can become a headache. View full post »
When I first heard about Instagram, I thought to myself: Oh boy, another social media platform to keep up with! I wasn’t at all interested in giving Instagram a try, so for the longest time I didn’t even create an account. However, Instagram became the fastest growing social media platform so I knew that if I wanted to keep up with the current trends, I had to at least give Instagram a chance. And I have to admit, it started growing on me!
