Happy Saturday, friends! I came across this beautiful commercial from the Swiss photo printing company, ifolor last night and it was so touching that I had to share it with you all. This was such a sweet reminder why preserving memories is so important.

As a wedding photographer, I’ve always considered it an honor to document such precious memories in my couples’ lives. Photographing a wedding is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. View full post »

Choosing the perfect pictures for your wedding album is no easy task, especially when there’s hundreds you can choose from.  I was sitting down with one of my brides one day talking about wedding albums and how they should tell the story of your wedding day from beginning to end and which pictures should go on which spread. Then she asked me if I would be willing to write something like a small guide that would help her choose the right images and not get overwhelmed in the process. And I thought to myself, what a fantastic idea! Because I want as many brides and photographers alike to benefit from these little guidelines I put together, I thought it would only be fitting to share it with everybody on the blog today. The secret to a stress-free wedding day? A well planned wedding day timeline. If you ever have, or are currently planning a wedding, you will soon find out how challenging it is to come up with a timeline on your own, when there are so many things to consider. Believe me, I’ve been there!  For that reason, I create a wedding day timeline for each and every one of my brides. This is helpful because it keeps everyone on the same page and allows enough time to capture the shots desired. A well planned wedding day timeline will ensure that your day runs flawlessly, while creating a stress-free atmosphere. View full post »

Disclaimer: This article is designed to provide information regarding the misconception between copyright and printing right, and help my customers understand the difference between the two.

“Do I get the copyrights to my wedding pictures?”

The term copyright is often misunderstood. I have realized that when most couples ask if they will receive the copyrights to their wedding images, they actually mean printing rights. As a bride, I know that I would like to be able to print my wedding pictures anytime and anywhere (of course, I would encourage you to invest in HIGH quality prints since you have already invested in HIGH quality photography, but more on that another time). As a photographer, I strongly believe in printing your images and keeping them as a legacy to show your children and grandchildren down the road. So, the answer is YES!, we always give our couples a print release form, that allows them to print their pictures, post them on social media and share them with family and friends, but they do not get the copyright to the images.

That gorgeous wedding dress I was mentioning earlier, the one you said Yes! to, the one you’ve been dreaming about ever since you were a little girl, the one your groom is going to see you walking down the aisle in to be his wife, that dress is SO important. When it comes to choosing their wedding collection, many couples can’t decide whether or not they would like to include a wedding album. The decision is particularly hard to make since we live in a digital age, and they get a cute little USB with all their wedding images anyway. But the question is — How often do you go back to that USB to look though pictures? Not too often. More often than not, it will be forgotten in a drawer somewhere gathering dust. View full post »

From the “YES” being all caps in the title of this post, it is fairly obvious what my opinion is on this topic. I think, especially as a photographer, that every bride should at least consider doing an unplugged wedding. View full post »
