HOW TO FIND INSPIRATION

photography challenge

You may remember when I first started my 365 photo project back in January, I was really excited about it. I was not looking to add something else to my to-do list, but really wanted to push my creativity this year and pick up my camera daily to document my everyday life. Three months later, I am just as excited about it as I was in the beginning. I cannot believe that I have already started month four of the 365 photo project. It’s been so much fun trying to come up with new ideas each day and make it interesting!

Finding new inspiration is really important to me!

Where do I get my inspiration from?, you may ask. Do you ever find yourself stuck in a rut? Oh yes, yes I do… but it’s the  little things around me that inspire me. I look for shape, color, texture, anything that is unique or different. As a wedding photographer, I am constantly reading wedding magazines, both national and international, and let me tell you, that is a great source to draw inspiration from.

Books. I love getting lost in a good book and just letting my imagination fly. Every time I get my hands on a good book I won’t put it down until I get to the very last page. If it’s really good, I read it cover to cover… twice! I’m not kidding. I have recently started going back to some of my all time favorite books I read in Romanian and read them again in English. To me, nothing is more inspiring than the pages of a great book after sunset.

Traveling. I have been blessed to go to many places and see many things I only heard or read about as a child. Being born in Europe, places like Paris, London, Rome, etc. were just a few hours away by plane. I love experiencing different cultures, learning about different traditions and meeting new people. Every time I go somewhere new, my heart fills with joy and excitement at the idea of discovering and trying new things. Learning about different cultures this way has definitely helped me stay inspired. There’s never a dull moment traveling!

Here’s to the creatives! What inspires you? I would love to hear about ways that help you stay inspired.
