bride and groom portraitTo say that Sorella Farms is one of my all time favorite wedding venues to photograph at would be an understatement! From the rustic reception barn, to the beautiful outdoor ceremony sites and blue pond, Sorella Farms offers a wide variety of locations for wedding photos.

Although the forecast called for rain on Friday, Sarah and Josh’s wedding day was nothing short of perfect! What I loved the most about this wedding was the attention to detail Sarah put into planning her big day. Every little thing was part of a bigger story. Sarah wore the pearl earrings that Josh gave her for their first Valentine’s day, and a bracelet that he had made for her for their second Valentine’s day together. I mean, how sweet is that?!

Sharon Jeffrey Sharp - Alina, thank you so much for the awesome pictures but also for the relationship you created with Sarah. You captured her personality and and also the love that she and Josh have for each other so well. I write this with tears of joy because these pictures will always take them back to those special days leading up to and including their very beautiful wedding day.ReplyCancel

night time photos of bride and groomOn Saturday, I had the incredible privilege of photographing Maria and James’ wedding at Sorella Farms in Evington, Virginia. They didn’t let a small storm get in the way of celebrating one of the most important days in their lives. Maria remained calm and composed throughout the entire day, even though the outdoor ceremony she had planned for almost 2 years had to be moved inside due to the rain. The rustic wedding barn at Sorella Farms made for a beautiful indoor ceremony.

Some of Maria’s family flew in from Peru and even brought a little surprise for the bride and groom. They put together a beautiful dance from each region of Peru and did an outstanding job with the choreography.  View full post »

engagement photo lynchbrug vaIt’s no surprise that the Old City Cemetery is one of my favorite locations for engagement pictures in Lynchburg. I absolutely LOVE shooting at the Old City Cemetery this time of the year when everything around is blooming and the nature is in its full glory with colorful flowers everywhere. Needless to say, my engagement session with this sweet couple could not have gone any better!

Without further ado, I want you all to meet Amy and Nathan, one of the most adorable and in love couples I’ve had the privilege to work with! View full post »

west manor weddingsWest Manor is every photographer’s dream wedding venue! Located in Central Virginia, it offers a wide variety of backdrops for photos, and the inside of the estate is just as dreamy: lots of natural light coming in, and the bridal suite is one of the most beautiful getting ready rooms I’ve ever seen.

This past weekend we had the privilege of celebrating Heather and Ethan’s wedding at the West Manor Estate View full post »

MY $2 TRICK TO CLEANING STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES

baby oil stainless steelIt’s that time of the year when everybody is doing some spring cleaning around the house! Last weekend we had a Mickey Mouse Birthday Party for our little man so I planned on doing a thorough cleaning around the house.

The one thing I was dreading the most was our stainless steel appliances. We’ve spent money before on cleaning solutions/cleaners that didn’t yield any results for us.  I also tried using a simple damp rag, however, our appliances always looked mushy. And with a 2 year old running around the house, you bet there are fingerprints everywhere!  View full post »

KENNETH TURNED 2!

mickey mouse birthday shirtHe’s been loving everything Mickey Mouse lately, so we threw him a Mickey Mouse Birthday Party!

The morning of his birthday party, after he woke up and came downstairs for breakfast, his face lit up at seeing all the Mickey Mouse decorations daddy and mommy had worked on the night before (till 2:30 a.m. might I add). But it didn’t matter, the expression on his face when he saw all of his guests at our house made it all worth it! View full post »

HEATHER+CLAY

glencliff manor weddingWe kicked off this year’s wedding season last weekend with Heather and Clay’s wedding at Glencliff Manor in Rustburg, VA. And boy, was it a lot of fun! We absolutely love working with the staff at Glencliff Manor! They always do a fantastic job, and they sure didn’t disappoint this time either.

Heather and Clay are the sweetest couple and their wedding was nothing short of perfect! We even had cherry blossoms ya’ll! From the beautiful blush bridesmaid’s dresses, to the lovely spring flowers, Heather meticulously planned every little detail for her wedding day. And let me just tell you, everything was flawless! easter egg paintThe brownie baked inside an eggshell is a fun little tradition we started in our family about 2 years ago. This fun alternative to the traditional Easter eggs is always a big hit, especially when you share it with people that have never heard of something like this before.

This year we wanted to surprise our youth group (we teach high school youth at a local church) with some brownies baked inside of eggshells, so between cooking, shooting a wedding, and planning a birthday party for our 2 year old son (Yes, K. turned 2 today… oh, how time flies!) we were able to bake some brownies inside of eggshells, paint them and take them to church this morning. Our youth LOVED them! Their snapchats were filled with brownies baked inside of eggshells! View full post »

If you follow me on social media, you probably saw lots of pictures from our trip to Romania, Europe during the past two weeks. We arrived safely in the States a couple of days ago and are still trying to adjust back to the time change. For those of you who don’t know, Romania is 7 hours ahead, so getting back on schedule is a little harder than we thought. View full post »
