One of the questions I get asked the most is what kind of photography gear I use. I remember when I was first starting out, I looked and asked for guidance from other photographer friends. As I got more established in my photography business, I was able to figure out the kind of camera and lenses I needed for my style. Below is a list of some of my most trusted camera equipment!
CAMERAS:
Nikon D810 – If you are shooting weddings, this camera is a beast in low light situations. The only negative is the size of the files. They are huge! However, this is my all-time favorite camera and I would recommend it to anyone looking to invest in a higher grade professional camera. It has a dual card slot which requires a SD + CF card.
Nikon D750 – I own 2 of these beauties which are comparable with the D810! The noise at higher ISO (2000+) is minimal. The dual card slot takes 2 SD cards, which I like better than a SD+CF card.
Nikon D600 – This used to be my backup camera, but I am looking to find this trusted friend a new home as I recently purchased a new D750 as a backup. If you are starting out and don’t want to invest thousands into your first camera, but want to go full-frame, then the D600 is the camera for you.
Nikon D3100 – This old friend was the first professional camera I ever owned. It was a wedding gift and I used it to teach myself almost everything I know now. This is not a full-frame camera, so I wouldn’t use it to photograph weddings or bigger events, but it would be a great family owned camera to take on vacations and trips. I still have this little guy but haven’t used it in years.
