We conquered another snow day yesterday, and rocked the cold weather with Emily and Ian at Sierra Vista! It was so incredibly cold, but so incredibly worth it. Sierra Vista is the only wedding venue in Virginia, that I know of, that has such an impressive mountain view. I shot there last fall and I was dying to shoot there again this winter. We got some snow around here this week, so I asked Sierra Vista if we could take some photos there. Everything was so last minute, but it all fell into place perfectly. With just a couple of hours to go before sunset, we cancelled our plans for the day, found a fabulous couple to photograph, made it to Sierra Vista, and had one of the coolest (literally) sessions to date. We got a little scared at first, because as soon as we get out of the car, what looked like a small storm started. The wind was blowing so hard that I started to think to myself that we just might not have picked the best day for a photoshoot. But no snow storm was able to stop us! The session was short, but worth every single second. Photographing Emily and Ian in the snow was a total different experience than when I took their engagement photos at Sorella Farms in the summer, but they braved the cold for me and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
Alina, these are beautiful! It shows your true passion and skill as a photographer that you were willing to drop everything to take advantage of the “scary” weather. You photographed my most favorite subjects – the Blue Ridge, Ian& Emily. Of course I am partial since I am Ian’s mom. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Mrs. Amy! I appreciate your kind words about my work. They are the sweetest couple, and it’s always a joy to work with them.
