Tyler and Evan’s Big Spring Farm wedding in Lexington, Virginia was nothing short of amazing! The vendor team was an absolute dream to be a part of, which made the whole day run flawlessly. This summer wedding in the mountains of Virginia could not have been any more perfect.
The Love Story
“We met on my first weekend of college. He was just beginning his Junior year and I was just beginning my freshman year. Tyler had a party at the “golf house”, as he was on the golf team, and he opened the door and kindly invited us in. Immediately, I was star-struck! Being the kind-hearted, southern gentlemen Tyler is, he introduced himself to me and we began having a conversation that seemed like it could have lasted forever. And… the rest was history!”
The Proposal
“Tyler proposed on a mountain off the Blue Ridge Parkway one COLD Saturday morning. Did I mention cold? Tyler was adamant about going hiking early in the morning with our Golden Retriever, Ellie. When we arrived, the entire mountain was frozen over, but despite my doubts, Tyler was still adamant about pushing on. Trekking up the mountain was interesting to say the least. We fell, slipped, and caught each other multiple times.
We passed multiple people coming down the mountain warning us to turn around, but (again) Tyler was adamant about pushing on. Eventually, we got to a spot where it was impossible to go any further. I asked to take a picture and began heading down the mountain. Tyler grasped my arm and told me to “hold on”, there was something he had to do. Puzzled, Tyler began to grow weepy and said the sweetest words (I couldn’t tell you what he said because I was in complete shock) that made me cry and he then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
While on the mountain he mentioned that my stepfather and father only knew that he was asking for my hand and on Sunday we were going home (to Richmond, VA) to surprise the rest of my family. We practically slid down the mountain, put a lock on Lover’s Bridge in Lynchburg, VA, and went to dinner for what I thought was a dinner for two to celebrate. To my surprise, our family and friends were at the restaurant to make for the most perfect and love-filled ending to a perfectly perfect day.”
Their Big Spring Farm Wedding
“Our vision is simply simple. We want a simple, southern, but classy wedding that helps our guests feel at ease. Planning a wedding can be so tedious and sometimes it’s easy to get lost in the material things about our wedding. Therefore, we are most excited about getting married and devoting our lives to each other in front of God and our family and friends. We could not imagine having it any other way.”
Tyler and Evan had a first-look no-peek and it was the best!
Isn’t that just the best love story ever? Tyler and Evan, it was truly an honor to photograph your Big Spring Farm Wedding this past weekend. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you as you start this new journey as husband and wife!
