Calendly is my number one resource that helps me avoid conflicting schedules with my clients!
So, you’ve booked the wedding and now it’s time to plan the engagement session. You email your clients with a few possible dates, but they always come back asking if you have any weekend availability.
You email back and forth multiple times because you’re either booked on the weekends, or have family plans already made. And just like that, what you hoped would be a great photography experience for your clients turns into a headache. And that’s not how you want to start your relationship with your couples, right?
So, how do convince your brides to schedule engagement sessions on weekdays or explain to them that you cannot hold all the dates while you wait on them to figure out their schedule (especially if you have multiple couples wanting to have their engagement pictures taken around the same time)?
Ever since I started using Calendly as part of my workflow, I have completely eliminated the never-ending scheduling issue. My clients can book their session on my calendar with the click of a button based on my current availability.
In my case, I only schedule engagement sessions on Mondays and Saturdays that I don’t have weddings. After my couples officially book their wedding date on my calendar (signed contract and paid retainer fee), I send them the following email:
“I’m so excited to start planning your engagement session soon! Do you guys prefer weekdays or weekends? I usually schedule engagement sessions on Mondays or Saturdays that I don’t have weddings, about an hour before sunset in order to capture the day’s most beautiful lighting. Here’s a link to my calendar so you can book the date that works best for you!”
This simple step is a complete life saver! Not only does it make the whole process easier for your couples, but it also cuts down on email communication as well. It’s a win-win all around! Give Calendly a try for free and let me know how it works out for ya!
Also, if you need a photography print release for your sessions, I highly recommend that you check out the Lawtog’s Photography Print Release to make sure that you have all of your bases covered.
