Every year I get a text from Stephanie to take their family photos in Virginia. They live in Georgia, and every Thanksgiving their whole family gathers at their parents’ farm in Moneta, VA. Tim and I love the Rogers family! I met Stephanie and Derek in Romania almost a decade ago. That sounds crazy to say! I can’t believe I’ve known them for so long!
Derek’s brother, Dustin, was the officiant at our wedding. Him and his wife Catherine also sang the most beautiful song on our wedding day. They are actually traveling back to Romania with us in March and we literally can’t wait! Our kids are going to get to play together for 2 weeks! How crazy is that?! It feels like only yesterday he was officiating our ceremony.
After I moved to the States, I got to meet the rest of the Rogers family and they are equally as awesome!
Every year before Thanksgiving, Stephanie texts me about taking their extended family pictures. I’ve been taking their photos for four years now, and I just love being able to document the whole Rogers family every year. It’s crazy how much their kids change from season to season!
My favorite thing to document is the grandparents with each set of grandchildren. It’s such a special time and I know that they will cherish these family photos in Virginia for many years to come.
It’s become a tradition to have dinner with them the day after Thanksgiving and we absolutely love seeing everyone! Needless to say, we take up half the restaurant since both the Rogers and the Thomas families grow from year to year.
Rogers family, thank you for allowing me to capture this special time in your lives every year! I’m already looking forward to next year!
