Want to know how to create a freebie for your website, but just don’t know where to start? Well, you’re in the right place!
Imagine this: a potential client finds your website, loves your work, but they are not ready to commit yet, so they don’t fill out your contact form. They plan to reach back out in the future, however, when they are finally ready to book a photographer, they can’t find your website because they didn’t save it. What a missed opportunity!
On the flip side, if you had a freebie on your website that they signed up for, you could continue to automatically deliver free content to them, establish trust, and stay top of mind. And you can do ALL of this without any time or effort on your part. You only have to do the work once to see results for months and years to come.
Here’s what you need:
- a free resource (freebie, lead magnet)
- an email service provider (I use ConvertKit)
Freebie
Think about how you could provide value to a bride that is in the beginning stages of planning her wedding. What would be helpful for her to know from a photography stand point? This is your opportunity to educate a prospective client before you even get to work with them. A good place to start is to think about some of the most common questions you get from your brides during the planning process.
Here are some ideas to help you get started:
“Free Wedding Planning Checklist”
“What to Wear to Your Engagement Session”
“How to Create a Wedding Day Timeline that Works”
Email Service Provider
You need an email service provider to be able to capture the bride’s email address so you can send her your free resource. After trying numerous email service providers, I found ConvertKit to be the easiest and most user friendly platform. If you want to give it a try, you can start a free trial HERE.
Once you create your free guide and link it with your email service provider, every time someone signs up for your freebie, ConvertKit is going to automatically email it to them. If you want to take it a step further, you can create additional educational emails to go out automatically.
Curious how to do that? Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started! Enjoy!
