Keswick Vineyards is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Virginia! Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, it offers the most gorgeous backdrop for every wedding. From multiple ceremony locations, to the impeccable white tent for outdoor receptions, everything Keswick Vineyards has to offer is unparalleled.
When I visited this exquisite wedding venue for the first time last year, I was amazed at how flawless everything was presented there. One of my favorite things was probably the groom’s suite which is unlike any other. This grand room even features a pool table for the groom and groomsmen to enjoy. The bridal suite is also very spacious and elegant. To top things off, the front of the Estate features a beautiful fountain and garden that is the perfect spot for doing a first-look!

How did the venue come into being? Tell us more about Keswick Vineyards and the history behind the location.
Al and Cindy Schornberg moved to Keswick, Virginia in 2000 from Michigan. It was always Al’s childhood dream to own a vineyard, so his dream became a reality when they moved to Edgewood Estate and started planting the vineyards themselves. Surviving a plane accident in 1995 caused them to pursue their retirement dream sooner, rather than later.
What makes your venue unique and special?
Our gorgeous outdoor space allows you to feel like you are actually out in the vineyard when you are hosting your wedding reception here. We encourage our guests to use the space as they want, so they have creative liberty in choosing where on the property they would like to get married. We are also completely separate from the tasting room, so we don’t have guests from the other side of the property disturbing our couples on their wedding day. Couples have the venue space from noon until midnight, so they can use the space as they wish!
How many guests does your venue hold?
Our venue holds up to 200 guests comfortably!
What services does your venue provide?
In additional to the rental package that we have, which includes all the “essentials” that you need for your wedding day, we also provide Day of Coordinator services to our couples. After all, who knows the venue better than we do?
What is the biggest question brides ask about venues?
“What is your rain plan?” Being that we are an outdoor venue, we do get asked this question quite often. We do have a great rain plan, where the ceremony and cocktail hour moves to the tent space. Our couples have let us know that even when it has rained on their wedding day, they barely noticed and still had a beautiful backdrop for their ceremony.
Do you do events as well as weddings? If so, is the venue seasonal or year-round?
We primarily do weddings, from April to mid November, and have only had a few events other than weddings occur on the event side of the property. Our tasting room continuously has events occurring, though, such as, “yappy hours,” bands coming to play at the tasting room on Saturdays, and food trucks that will stop by.
Any insider tips on choosing a venue?
Come up with every question that you could possibly think of prior to touring and booking! You never know what could unexpectedly come up. We are always extremely thorough during our tours, ensuring that this doesn’t happen.
Do you have any exciting plans for the future of the venue?
We continuously plant new vines, expanding our productivity. We hope to expand our winery facility soon!
Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?
We love the natural and simplistic look that brides are going for nowadays. It seems like garden-themed weddings are a huge trend now and brides either go minimalistic with just using the natural beauty of the venue as their theme, or they simply add greenery and slight hints of color to their wedding.
If you could offer a bride looking for a venue one piece of advice, what would it be?
You can really “ball on a budget!” We have a lot of brides that are looking for ways to save money wedding-wise. We have had SO many creative brides and grooms that will DIY things, such as, centerpieces, arbors, etc. A lot of couples also come here for the vineyard’s natural beauty, so they don’t need to spend a huge amount of money on floral arrangements. We tell our couples that you really don’t need to be extravagant in order to have a beautiful wedding. We are always willing to give advice on how to make cost-efficient weddings work!
