This stunning Middleburg Barn wedding was nothing short of perfect. Not even the rain could dampen the happiness that filled the air at Jill and RJ’s wedding last Saturday! They never once complained about the storm and filled the entire reception with their smiles. Now, that’s a wedding well done, if you ask me!
RJ and Jill had seen each other at the gym at Virginia Tech but never spoke. One day, Jill saw him leaving when she went in, and about 10 minutes later had a Facebook friend request from RJ. She had no idea how he found out who she was! Turns out, he had some friends that worked at the gym, and when you swipe your ID for entrance your name and picture pop up on the screen, and that’s how he learned.
She knew as soon as they met that there was something special about him. RJ and Jill have been together for 4 years, 2 of which he has been in the Army. After graduation from Virginia Tech, he enlisted in the Army and she continued at school. This January, before he returned to his base following Christmas leave, they decided to have a date night and go to the MGM at National Harbor to have dinner.
They got 30 minutes down the road when he realized he forgot his jacket. So they turn around in rush hour traffic to go get his jacket, and the winter sunset proposal RJ envisioned did not happen since they got to the harbor after dark. He took Jill on the Ferris wheel instead, waited until they got to the top, and got down on one knee. She said YES! and the rest is history!
