Let me start off by saying that this is not your average white barn wedding! The Old Mill Farm in Bedford, Virginia certainly outdid themselves with this gorgeous wedding. The venue has an amazing modern white barn to host every reception. It’s truly every photographer’s dream! To be honest, I’ve been looking forward to Lauren and Erik’s wedding day ever since I took their engagement photos at the Old Mill Farm.
Erik and Lauren met back in 2012 while they were both working at a summer soccer camp in Erik’s hometown of Radford, Virginia. After spotting each other on the second day of camp, Erik and Lauren spent the next few days learning more about each other. Throughout the week, Erik asked Lauren out a total of three times, but had no luck. However, on his fourth attempt, Lauren agreed to give him a chance and that led to a summer of love. Almost four and a half years later, they tied the knot at one of my favorite barn wedding venues, the Old Mill Farm.
The morning of the wedding, I met Lauren and her bridesmaids at the Bridgewater Pointe. The girls got ready at this luxurious waterfront condo at Smith Mountain Lake which was such a dream! I mean, the view from their balcony was simply breathtaking! To top it off, the Black Tie Trolleys provided the transportation from the Bridgewater Pointe condo to the ceremony.
Shortly after we arrived at the Old Mill Farm, Lauren and Erik shared their first look. It was such a sweet and intimate moment! The first look was followed by the bridal party photos and family formals before the ceremony. Did I mention how much I love first looks?! Not only did they get to spend some quality time alone before the ceremony, but they also got to get all the formal photos out of the way and enjoy their cocktail hour. It’s a win-win if you ask me! The couple’s white barn wedding reception was held at the Old Mill Farm.
