When I visited Morais Vineyards for the first time, I was completely amazed by their brand-new bridal suite. It is like no other!! It’s elegant, sophisticated, and has an abundance of natural light coming in, which is every photographer’s dream when it comes to taking getting ready pictures of the bride. I literally cannot wait to photograph here again in the near future!

Tell us more about Morais Vineyards and the history behind the location.
The owner originated from Portugal and his inspiration for the venue came from a place in his hometown. The owner owned the property for over 15 years. Before it was a venue or a winery it was just a farm. 12 years ago, his youngest daughter decided to get married at the farm. They put up tents, trailers and the whole nine. She believes she was the inspiration for a wedding venue!
What makes your venue unique and special?
Our venue is not like any other venue, aesthetically. The moment you drive into the property you feel like you just left Virginia and drove into the Mediterranean.
How many guests does your venue hold?
Our standard capacity is 250 but max capacity is 300.
What services does your venue provide?
We are strictly venue so we provide tables, chairs and the space. We provide a day of venue coordinator to oversee the day.
What is the biggest question brides ask about venues?
Most ask about catering (which we do not provide) and we also get asked about our alcohol policy a lot. We allow outside wine and beer!
Do you do events as well as weddings? If so, is the venue seasonal or year-round?
We do other events throughout the year. We hold corporate events and even holiday events.
Any insider tips on choosing a venue?
Location is key. Make sure your guests are going to be comfortable because they will remember how they felt during the wedding. Gravel vs concrete, A/C, and even parking are all things that wedding guests pay attention too.
Do you have any exciting plans for the future of the venue?
The owner of the venue is always expanding and adding new things to the venue. Just recently we built a brand new bridal suite. I believe there is a new ceremony location coming in the future!
Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?
The most exciting thing about our venue is the diversity we see. No wedding is the same. Trends or no trends, every wedding is beautiful.
If you could offer a bride looking for a venue one piece of advice, what would it be?
Venues are one of the hardest decisions when wedding planning. Make sure when you are looking for a venue, walk into a tour as if you were walking in for a wedding. See how you feel, see what you like and don’t like, and pay attention to what you will see as a wedding guest because these are things that a lot of brides forget.
