Our Bahamas Family Vacation Photos

I’m so excited to finally share our Bahamas family vacation photos on the blog! It’s been a few weeks since we returned from our Bahamas cruise and we already want to go back! This trip was absolutely incredible!

Since this was our first cruise ever, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. Would I like it? Would I get sick? Or, would taking two kids ages 3 and 5 on a cruise be too much?! But I have to say, it was one of the best vacations we’ve been on so far. And I think I know why! I’m the kind of person who LOVES going on vacation, but does NOT like the traveling aspect of it haha.

I mean, crowded airports, long lines, uncomfortable seats… not my jam. However, on a cruise you get to simultaneously be on vacation while traveling to your next destination. Isn’t that amazing?!

Needless to say, we had a blast!

We flew into Miami the day before our cruise where we met with our friends Stephani and Kurtis. The next day, we drove to the port of Miami, where we got on the Carnival cruise ship. I have to say, the boarding experience was flawless. We expected it to be crowded and hard to navigate, but it was the complete opposite. We went through security and onto the ship in just a few minutes. This was definitely a plus!

We were served lunch as soon as we got on board. After lunch, we were able to go to our rooms and settle in. Later that night, we had dinner and the food was absolutely delicious! I also have to credit the amazing staff. They were the friendliest people and even learned our kids’ names by the next day. We learned that most of them cruise for 10 months at a time, so I can only imagine how hard it must be to keep a smile on your face and serve cruise guests every single week for that long. Yet, you would never know it!

The second day was a day at sea, meaning that we did not get off the boat at all. We took the kids to the pool, enjoyed some delicious food, rested and recharged. However, on the third day we ported in Half Moon Cay, which is a GORGEOUS private island. We really did get spoiled that day! Besides all the fun things like the kids water park, beautiful clear water, and gorgeous weather… they even served us lunch on the beach. Amazing!

Next, we ported in Nassau which also had beautiful clear waters. Then, on day 5 we ported in Freeport, which is more industrial and the beaches are only accessible by taxi. Our absolute favorite was Half Moon Cay for sure. We jokingly say that we should have ended our cruise experience there because it was so nice! After we got back to Miami on the 6th day, we spent a couple more days visiting the city and Little Havana on Calle Ocho.

Enjoy our Bahamas family vacation photos below, and if you decide to book a cruise soon, it’s definitely worth it!
