Social Media Engagement Posts for Photographers

Social media engagement posts and comments are hard to come up with. But don’t worry, this blog post will help with that! Are you tired of feeling like no matter how many times you post on Instagram, no one ever sees your posts? If you’re showing up consistently, day after day, only to feel like you’re talking to an empty room, you’re not alone. We’ve all been there!

The key to social media success isn’t just about posting pretty pictures. It’s about ENGAGEMENT! Here’s why! The more people engage with your content (like, comment, or share your posts), the more the algorithm will push your posts out into people’s feeds. So, how do you get people to engage with your posts?

Drumroll, please… Give the engagement you want to receive! Yup, it’s that simple.

So, in this post I’m going to show you how to engage with your ideal clients on social media, from finding them online to leaving meaningful comments on their posts that spark conversations.

1. Find Your Ideal Client

Before you can engage with your ideal clients, you need to know who they are and where to find them on social media. Think about the type of clients you want to attract. What are their interests, demographics, and behaviors? Once you have a clear picture, use hashtags and the search feature in order to find related accounts and connect with them.

2. Get People Talking on Your Posts and Stories

To encourage comments on your posts and stories, you need to give the engagement you want to receive. This means:

  • Liking Posts: Start by liking posts from potential customers (your ideal client) and businesses you admire. It’s a simple way to get noticed.
  • Leaving Meaningful Comments: When you comment on someone’s post, make it meaningful. Use at least four words or more and avoid generic comments like “Love this!”

3. Leave Thoughtful Comments

Remember, the algorithm favors genuine interactions and comments that are at least 4 words long. So, instead of saying:

  • “Wow!” SAY ➡️ “Wow! How do you find these hidden gems?”
  • “Gorgeous!” SAY ➡️  “This is absolutely gorgeous! What lens did you use?”
  • “Breathtaking!” SAY ➡️  “This is breathtaking! What time of day did you take this shot?”

Not sure how to start meaningful conversations online that don’t feel awkward or forced? Here are 75 prompts to get you started!
