If you’re looking for Virginia engagement photo locations that feel timeless, romantic, and full of character, Monument Terrace in downtown Lynchburg is a beautiful spot to consider.
I got to photograph Ellie and Gavin here recently, and their love story is just as sweet as their session. They first met back in high school through the Central VA Governor’s School, but didn’t really talk much until college. Even though they went to different schools (Virginia Tech and VMI), they started texting and FaceTiming from a distance. Their first real date was at a VMI dance in October 2022, and that’s when everything changed.
Fast forward to Thanksgiving Break 2024. Gavin completely surprised Ellie with the most thoughtful proposal at the Bluffwalk in downtown Lynchburg. She thought it was just a casual dinner and some family photos, but little did she know Gavin had something else planned. Gavin got down on one knee under the beautiful tunnel of lights. She said Yes! through happy tears, and then heard her mom’s voice nearby. Gavin had secretly invited both their families to be there, which made the moment even more special.
Since their love story is filled with so many Lynchburg memories, it made sense to take their engagement photos at one of the most iconic Virginia engagement photo locations, Monument Terrace in downtown Lynchburg.
Gavin and Ellie’s wedding at Glencliff Manor is this September and I can’t wait to photograph their beautiful day! Ellie said she chose Alina Thomas Photography to photograph her wedding after realizing my photos were already on her vision boards from Pinterest and Instagram. It felt like the perfect fit from the start!
If you’re looking for beautiful Virginia engagement photo locations, Monument Terrace in downtown Lynchburg is a must see. It’s always such a joy to photograph couples in places that are part of their story!
