MACKENZIE AND CHRIS
Chris and Mackenzie’s wedding day at Sorella Farms in Evington, Virginia was absolutely stunning from start to finish! These two didn’t let a little bit of rain in the forecast scare them and as a result, they were able to enjoy the most beautiful reception together with their friends and family. We started the day at the Hampton Inn Hotel in Lynchburg, Virginia where Mackenzie and the bridesmaids had their makeup and hair done. Chris and his groomsmen were getting ready three floors above the girls’ room. From Hampton Inn, the bridal party all left together for the church in a beautiful limo that waited for them right outside the hotel. The ceremony at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church was heartfelt and sweet and the bride and groom exited the ceremony with a lavender toss. View full post »
When Kelly told me that she wanted to have her engagement photos taken at Sierra Vista in Bedford, VA I knew it was going to be amazing! Sierra Vista has one of the most spectacular mountain views I have ever seen, and the sunsets are simply breathtaking.
Kelly and Perry are such an awesome couple to work with and, after meeting them for their engagement pictures, I cannot wait to photograph their wedding at the beautiful Glencliff Manor next year! Their happiness is simply contagious. I loved the way they looked at each other the entire session. Their love for each other is one of a kind, so unique and beautiful to witness. Have I already told you how excited I am for their wedding next October?! It’s going to be amazing! View full post »

Mindy and I have been planning her maternity session for months! Knowing that she and Derek were coming to Lynchburg to visit her family, we figured it was the perfect time!
The Brooks have been one of my all time favorite people to work with! I had the honor to photograph Mindy and Derek’s wedding at Sierra Vista in Bedford, Virginia last year and I cannot tell you enough about how wonderful Mindy’s parents are. Dr. Brooks, Mindy’s dad, officiated the ceremony. I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t usually cry at weddings, but this time I had to keep wiping my tears away, that’s how beautiful and heart-felt their ceremony was.
Mindy chose to have her maternity photos taken at one of the most gorgeous locations in Lynchburg, the Old City Cemetery. Seriously, this place is incredibly beautiful all year around, even more so in the fall. But you don’t have to take my word for it, keep scrolling down and you’ll see what I mean! View full post »
SORELLA FARMS: JORDAN+BRYANT
This weekend we were back at Sorella Farms to photograph Jordan and Bryant’s beautiful wedding! From the gorgeous florals by Fleur-De-Lis to Jordan’s stunning dress by Celebration Bridal, we’re simply in love with this amazing Sorella Farms wedding! After weeks of rain in the Lynchburg area, the sun shined the entire day for this wedding. We could not have asked for better weather! Just wait until you see the gorgeous light in these bride and groom photos. I’m telling you, that light was out of this world!
Yet again, we were fortunate enough to work with an amazing team of local vendors that made the wedding run smoothly. I love meeting new vendors and I have to give a big shout out to the amazing DeVries Productions who were a dream to work with! View full post »
I was sitting in the waiting room at the doctor’s office when Sherry texted me. One thing led to another and she asked if I was going to have newborn pictures taken. Now, I had thought about the possibility of doing a newborn session before and kept putting it off, but in that moment it just clicked, and I booked my session immediately. And I’m so glad I did! You see, two years ago when we had Kenneth, the photographer side of me thought she could take his newborn photos. I even bought him a cute newborn outfit. But guess what?! This momma was WAY too tired the first couple of weeks postpartum to take any photos. Do I regret not investing in a newborn session back then? I totally do. So this time I knew better and hired someone to take Emma’s newborn pictures.
If you’re curious to read more about Emma’s birth story, here’s how it happened! View full post »

This Saturday we had the privilege of photographing Maggie and Sam’s wedding at the Bedford Columns! Located in Bedford, Virginia, The Bedford Columns is one of the most
exquisite wedding venues around. As you scroll through the photos below, you’ll see what I mean!
Maggie and Sam are one of the sweetest couples you will ever meet. Believe it or not, these two were born on the same day and year, only hours apart. To make things extra special, Sam proposed to Maggie on their birthday.
Their wedding day could not have been any more perfect! From the little details, to the gorgeous mansion that served as their wedding venue, everything was flawless. On a side note, I may or may not have fallen in love with Maggie’s bridal shoes!!! I sure need to get me a pair! View full post »
I can’t believe we’re only 4 weeks away from our due date!! Baby girl is doing great and momma is getting all the rest she possibly can during this maternity leave. I haven’t taken on any weddings for the two months leading up to my due date so I can focus on my family and babies during this time. It’s been great spending time with my 2 year old without feeling the pressure of work that has to be done, or weddings and sessions that have to be edited and delivered to clients. I’ve been experiencing what it truly feels like to be a stay-at-home mom!
However, I did make an exception to photograph my little nephew who is turning one this month. We met at Glencliff Manor to snap a few quick photos of baby James and his parents. When I uploaded the photos to my computer and saw how amazing the light was in this new spot I discovered, I told the hubs that I really NEEDED to have some maternity photos taken there. So I emailed Mrs. Teresa, the owner of Glencliff Manor and Events, and asked her if I could use the Glencliff Manor grounds for another quick session. She was kind enough to say “yes!” View full post »
Natasha and Scott’s wedding at the Trivium in Forest, VA was absolutely beautiful! The couple lives in Hawaii but had a destination wedding in Virginia and I was beyond honored to photograph these special moments in their lives. Every little detail was impeccable! From the gorgeous wedding dress and shoes, to the amazing cascading bouquet that Natasha’s mom made, everything was breathtaking.
One of my favorite things to witness was the lei exchange during the ceremony. It was the perfect way for Natasha and Scott to express their love for each other Hawaiian style. To give someone a lei symbolizes the love, respect, and affection one has for the person they are gifting the lei to. How beautiful is that?! View full post »
