Ready for some more Cedar Oaks Farm photos? This time, I’m excited to share Jack and Becca’s breathtaking wedding that took place against the stunning backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The entire day was absolutely amazing — the mountains, the love, and all the little moments in between.
Every second was a tribute to their love story and the promise of new beginnings. From their heartfelt vows to the joyful dances, their day was perfect in every way.
Before I share these beautiful Cedar Oaks Farm photos from Becca and Jack’s wedding, I want to share their proposal story.
The Proposal
Becca was born and raised on Long Island. Her parents had been down to Virginia to visit a few times, so I had gotten to know them pretty well, but I hadn’t had the chance to spend time with the rest of her family.
Early in 2022 we made a plan to visit her family in Long Island. In May I started talking to Becca’s mom and sisters about a plan to propose while we visited New York. Within a few weeks her entire family helped me plan the proposal.
At the end of August, we drove up to Long Island. We “made plans” to get breakfast with her brother and sister-in-law on our first day in town. We met at their house and her brother announced that he and I were heading off on our own to have a men’s breakfast. Becca assumed her brother was going to have a one-on-one talk with me to get to know me. Instead, we drove out to a New York State Park where we had already arranged for the proposal to take place.
The state park has a small cafe so after we left, Becca’s sister-in-law explained she had received a gift card to a small cafe at a state park, and asked Becca if she’d like to get breakfast there. The state park has several flower fields and groves. We had arranged for a family friend to meet us there and take pictures.
I arrived first and met the photographer, and we quickly made our way to a field with beautifully decorated arches. When Becca and her sister-in-law arrived, they headed towards the cafe for their breakfast. Before they got there, her sister-in-law led her to the garden I was in.
Becca turned the corner, and I was waiting for her at the end of the path. We hugged and laughed, and I asked her to be my wife! Truthfully, I don’t remember what I said to her in that moment. I didn’t rehearse anything and figured I would speak from the heart. Thankfully she said yes!
When we left the park, I told Becca I had another surprise for her. We drove across town to Sunken Meadow beach, where her family had set up a picnic for us. Her and I proceeded to have a picnic date on level with an episode of The Bachelorette, complete with a dozen roses, champagne, fresh fruit, a charcuterie board, and more. People on the boardwalk congratulated us as they walked by, and we enjoyed our first date as an engaged couple. – Jack
