This Keswick Vineyards Chinese wedding was literally a dream!! When my sweet friend Kelly Haines asked me to photograph this wedding with her, I was so excited! I love learning about different customs and traditions, and this wedding was everything I could have hoped for… and more.
One of my favorite parts from this stunning Keswick Vineyards Chinese wedding was the tea party ceremony. The beautiful bride wore a stunning red dress called a qipao. In Chinese culture, red symbolizes happiness, prosperity, and good luck. After the tea ceremony, we took family photos in front of the beautiful pool at Keswick Vineyards.
Another fun Chinese tradition that happens before the tea ceremony is for the groom and groomsmen to go over to the bride’s home (or getting ready location). When they get there, they get blocked at the door by the bridesmaids. The bridesmaids then play games with the groom and his groomsmen. These were so much fun and everybody had a great time!
Katie and Ben then had a beautiful modern outdoor ceremony which was so heartfelt! Their white tent reception that followed was truly a dream! This is one of my favorite things about Keswick Vineyards. Their impeccable white tent is beautifully located to the side of the Estate and is truly a luxury to every outdoor reception.
While this was my first time photographing a Chinese wedding at Keswick Vineyards, I sure hope it’s not my last. If you know of a couple that is planning a beautiful Chinese wedding, please let them know that I would LOVE to be a part of it!! Also, if you’d like to read more about the stunning Keswick Vineyards, one of the most beautiful vineyard wedding venues around, take a look at the interview I did with them a while back. You’re absolutely going to love it!
How beautiful is this pool? Ben and Katie used this area for their Chinese tea ceremony.
