Desman and Taylor’s Washington DC engagement pictures are finally here! After traveling for two weeks straight this month, I didn’t get a chance to post their beautiful session on the blog… until now :) And believe me, it was well worth the wait!
These two totally crushed their Washington DC engagement session! Not only did they dress absolutely gorgeous for the occasion, but they were also so incredibly easy to work with. I am thrilled to capture their wedding next year! But for now, here’s a little bit about their story.
The Proposal
They were planning a fun evening at the Wharf in Washington DC to celebrate Desman’s birthday with some of their friends and family. As it got close to the time that they were supposed to meet up with everyone, Desman said they needed to go downstairs to help his parents find the hotel. They walked downstairs and started heading towards his parents who were waiting at the end of the peer. Once they got to the end of the peer, both Desman and Taylor’s parents (with a couple of friends and other family members) were waiting for them. That’s when Desman got down on one knee and proposed!
When did you know that he was the one and vice versa?
Bride: “On one of our hang out sessions, it was a snowy night which resulted in us being completely snowed in. That night we watched movies, he cooked dinner, and we played card games. It was nice hanging out and feeling completely and totally secure and safe. I loved everything about his energy and genuinely enjoyed hanging out with him that night.”
Groom: “The way my fiancée loves her students (she’s a third grade teacher) and the way she adored her dog, really showed me her passions and how selfless her spirit was. I loved seeing how passionate she was about the ones she cared about. I fell in love with her energy and how she treated those around her.”
How did you hear about me and why did you chose Alina Thomas Photography to photograph your wedding?
“We found your website via Google and Instagram. We knew after talking to you on the phone that you were the photographer for us! Your welcoming personality is what sold us ! We wanted a photographer that we could feel comfortable with but also, someone who’s professional and knows her craft well.”
