As I’m closing out 2018, I can’t help but think about all the beautiful weddings I photographed this year. I can hardly believe that my sixth wedding season has come to an end. I’m beyond excited to see what 2019 has in store though!
It’s become a tradition for me to give you a behind-the-scenes peek at how my year went. So, every year I write a year in review blog post as my very last blog post for the year. This year is no different! I can’t wait to share with you all the new things I’ve experienced, as well as the bloopers along the way. Yes, there have been plenty of those as well!
This was the first year that we attended a wedding as a family of four, while I was also the wedding photographer. So, naturally, I had to squeeze in a photo with both my kiddos.
Emma was so excited to see me, and I absolutely LOVED having her around while I was shooting. I miss my littles so much when I’m away shooting on the weekend!!
This boy… I can’t take him anywhere! Haha. He was the heart of the party :)
Speaking of kids, this year I seemed to attract a lot of them at weddings. They would all come to me and try to help. It was the sweetest thing!
While sometimes I get to take beautiful photos of some gorgeous bridesmaids and brides…
…or style wedding invitations (speaking of which, why do I not carry hair ties with me?!)…
…other times, I make “risky” moves for the sake of taking the perfect shot. Thankfully, that step stool was very sturdy, and we didn’t have any casualties.
Apparently, I also like standing on the very edge of a step when I take a shot… you know, just to keep things interesting. Haha.
My second shooters also like doing extreme things… anything for the perfect shot! Am.I.right?!
I seriously do have the best second shooters though! When Kendall was hot on her wedding day, Monica fanned her dress to help her cool down. I mean, this service should be included in every wedding collection, don’t you think?
If you thought that all I do on a wedding day is take pretty pictures, you’re in for a treat: I’m also a professional dress button-er. I bet you didn’t guess that one, did you?
My daughter, Emma, started ballet this year and apparently I picked up a few moves as well. Pointy toes for the win!
More pointy toes… and I should also cover the groom’s face with my flash while I’m at it because why not?! Totally kidding. These portraits turned out AMAZING! These two had one of the most beautiful weddings of the year!
Oh, and we can’t forget about them Instagram stories! #thatsocialmedialife
Speaking of social media, one of my grooms this year got snatched by a group of tourists to take their picture. He did amazing though!
I hope this post brought a smile to your face! If you want to see my previous year in review posts, you can click below to take a look.
