We all know that weddings are incredible, but there’s something extra special about post-wedding moments. After saying their “I dos” in beautiful Virginia, Mark and Becca decided to extend the magic and romance with a honeymoon at Smith Mountain Lake. And guess what? They invited me to document it!
Here’s a little bit of back story of how it all happened!
Since they had a destination wedding in Virginia, we were supposed to take their engagement photos the week of the wedding. However, because it started storming that day, we had to postpone their session. So, Becca had the idea of doing a honeymoon session at Smith Mountain Lake instead. And I absolutely loved it!

But, can we talk about Smith Mountain Lake for a second? This place is like a dream come true. It has everything from serene waters to sandy shores, and the backdrop of the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains. It was the perfect location for Mark and Becca’s Smith Mountain Lake beach photos! We also had the most beautiful overcast weather, which made for some gorgeous photos.
And let’s not forget about the outfits! Wait until you see Becca’s skirt… such a beautiful pop of color! 🤩
