After photographing Danni and Rory’s wedding at Glencliff Manor the weekend before, I was back at this gorgeous venue the following Saturday to document Amy and Nathan’s weglencliff manor weddingdding. From the moment I met these two I knew there was something special about their relationship! From their engagement session at the Old City Cemetery, to their beautiful wedding at Glencliff Manor in Rustburg, Virginia, everything was perfect.

When I arrived at the venue and saw Amy’s dress, as well as all the pretty little details she has put so much thought into, my jaw dropped. I mean… that wedding dress was flawless!! SOOO pretty! I could photograph it for days. After I photographed the dress, Amy handed me all the other details: her shoes, wedding rings, invitation, etc. The rings were placed on an antique Bible which belonged to Nathan’s grandfather. I absolutely adored that idea! View full post »

Big congrats to this amazing couple who got married at the beautiful Glencliff Manor in Rustburg, Virginia. Their wedding day was filled with lots of joy and laughter! Danni and Rory were suglencliff manor weddingrrounded by family and friends as they said their “I DOs” in a beautiful outdoor ceremony setting! Just wait until you see the ceremony decor… they had spanish moss hanging from the trees and the most beautiful light shinning through the woods. It goes without saying that their outdoor ceremony was one of a kind! To be completely honest, Glencliff Manor is a one of a kind venue all together. If you don’t believe me, see for yourself. Here is an interview I did with the amazing owner, Teresa, a while back. If you are looking for an all-inclusive wedding experience, Glencliff Manor in Rustburg, VA is the venue for you!

Dani and Rory, thank you for inviting me to be a part of your big day! You had the most beautiful wedding and your joy is simply contagious! I wish you all a life full of happiness for many years to come! View full post »

wedding guests rsvp with no nameIt’s been a while since I have written a post for my dear brides. The wedding season is in full swing right now and I get to blog a lot of beautiful weddings these days. However, I know that some of you ladies are still in the planning process for your big day and I wanted to share a quick tip with you that will come in handy when you mail out your wedding invitations.

We have 4 weddings in the Thomas family this year, and I’ve learned a lot about some of the things brides struggle with when it comes to planning their wedding. One of them is guests that mail their RSVP card without filling in their names. It’s not a big deal if you get one or two cards that are missing the guests’ names, but when you receive a couple dozen of those, it can become a headache. View full post »

It goes without saying that I love me some gorgeous bridbridal portraits in bedford vaal portraits, and bridal sessions are my favorite. This weekend we photographed wedding number two out of the five weddings we havesorella farms evington vaon the books  at Sorella Farms this wedding season. It’s always such a joy to go back and see our Sorella family, the beautiful venue and landscapes… and not to mention that my Sorella Farms brides are really special to me!

Stephanie and Josh’s wedding day started off with a little bit of rain, and although it was drizzling during the ceremony, they had the most beautiful outdoor ceremony together with their family and friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Tucker, thank you for choosing Alina Thomas Photography to capture these special moments in your life! We were truly honored to be there and celebrate with you on such a monumental day. View full post »

bride and groom portraitTo say that Sorella Farms is one of my all time favorite wedding venues to photograph at would be an understatement! From the rustic reception barn, to the beautiful outdoor ceremony sites and blue pond, Sorella Farms offers a wide variety of locations for wedding photos.

Although the forecast called for rain on Friday, Sarah and Josh’s wedding day was nothing short of perfect! What I loved the most about this wedding was the attention to detail Sarah put into planning her big day. Every little thing was part of a bigger story. Sarah wore the pearl earrings that Josh gave her for their first Valentine’s day, and a bracelet that he had made for her for their second Valentine’s day together. I mean, how sweet is that?!

night time photos of bride and groomOn Saturday, I had the incredible privilege of photographing Maria and James’ wedding at Sorella Farms in Evington, Virginia. They didn’t let a small storm get in the way of celebrating one of the most important days in their lives. Maria remained calm and composed throughout the entire day, even though the outdoor ceremony she had planned for almost 2 years had to be moved inside due to the rain. The rustic wedding barn at Sorella Farms made for a beautiful indoor ceremony.

Some of Maria’s family flew in from Peru and even brought a little surprise for the bride and groom. They put together a beautiful dance from each region of Peru and did an outstanding job with the choreography.  View full post »

engagement photo lynchbrug vaIt’s no surprise that the Old City Cemetery is one of my favorite locations for engagement pictures in Lynchburg. I absolutely LOVE shooting at the Old City Cemetery this time of the year when everything around is blooming and the nature is in its full glory with colorful flowers everywhere. Needless to say, my engagement session with this sweet couple could not have gone any better!

Without further ado, I want you all to meet Amy and Nathan, one of the most adorable and in love couples I’ve had the privilege to work with! View full post »

west manor weddingsWest Manor is every photographer’s dream wedding venue! Located in Central Virginia, it offers a wide variety of backdrops for photos, and the inside of the estate is just as dreamy: lots of natural light coming in, and the bridal suite is one of the most beautiful getting ready rooms I’ve ever seen.

MY $2 TRICK TO CLEANING STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES

baby oil stainless steelIt’s that time of the year when everybody is doing some spring cleaning around the house! Last weekend we had a Mickey Mouse Birthday Party for our little man so I planned on doing a thorough cleaning around the house.

The one thing I was dreading the most was our stainless steel appliances. We’ve spent money before on cleaning solutions/cleaners that didn’t yield any results for us.  I also tried using a simple damp rag, however, our appliances always looked mushy. And with a 2 year old running around the house, you bet there are fingerprints everywhere!  View full post »
