Being that I am primarily a wedding photographer, I don’t get to photograph many family sessions throughout the year. As a mom of two, I adore family sessions and it’s always such an honor to be invited to celebrate these milestones in my clients’ lives. Maternity sessions are very special to me, as I spent the majority of this year being pregnant. Our little Emma came into the world just a few short months ago and I already miss those little kicks inside my baby bump.
When Karissa messaged me about doing her maternity photos, I was literally so excited because I had just been through the same experience. Her and Ryan live in Amherst and for their maternity session we met up in Lynchburg. We found the perfect location for her fall maternity pictures and the light was simply gorgeous!! I couldn’t be happier for this amazing couple who are getting ready to welcome their sweet baby Hayden into their family in the next couple of months.

Sorella Farms is stunning all year around and I loved photographing a lot of weddings there this year. I have to say though, that during fall, it is extra beautiful. During this time of the year, weddings usually slow down and engagement sessions are in high demand. I absolutely adore the fall season, and when Devin emailed me to let me know that she wanted to have her engagement photos taken this fall, I was extremely happy. Not to mention that she chose Sorella Farms as her backdrop for her session. Devin and Matt are getting married at Sorella Farms next year and I am beyond excited to work alongside Sorella’s wedding crew again. View full post »
Becca and Matt’s wedding at Hilton Garden Inn in Lynchburg, Virginia was like no other! It’s no secret that I help each of my brides build a perfect timeline for
their wedding day to make sure they have plenty of time for all the pictures they desire. And first-looks are always encouraged in order to get the most out of the photography coverage. Becca and Matt not only did a first look, their whole wedding day was so relaxed, and ran so smoothly, that we took the family photos that were scheduled for later in the day, before the ceremony. Aaand the bride had plenty of time left to freshen up before the ceremony. That, friends, is a wedding well planned!!
We started the day at Heritage Baptist Church in Forest, Virginia which has the cutest little chapel for weddings. As I was gathering all the details to photograph, my jaw dropped when I saw Becca’s wedding shoes!! I love me a good pair of sparkling shoes! View full post »
This gorgeous fall wedding at Sierra Vista in Bedford, Virginia is very dear to my heart. Becca and Leo are an amazing couple and I could not be happier that they chose me to document this special day in their lives! From the sun-filled weather, to all the little details that the bride put so much thought into, everything was flawless.
The girls at A Little Party Events did a fantastic job coordinating the day and making sure that everything went smoothly. As always, Bloom by Doyle’s delivered the most gorgeous florals possible! Just wait until you see those gorgeous bouquets!! View full post »
Where do I even start?! Lauren and Erik are the sweetest couple and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding at the Old Mill Farm in Bedford, Virginia next year!! From the moment I met them, I knew they would be a lot of fun to work with and I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am to have them as one of my 2017 couples!
For their engagement session, we headed over to their wedding venue in Bedford, VA. I am so glad they chose the Old Mill Farm for their photos. It was a really windy afternoon, so we snuck inside the barn where the receptions are held, and although this wasn’t my first time photographing at the Old mill Farm, my little photographer heart bursted with happiness when I saw the beautiful white walls inside. You guys, this is every photographer’s dream!! View full post »
Laura and Stephen’s wedding at the Patrick Henry Ballroom in Roanoke, Virginia was absolutely gorgeous! Wait until you see the beautiful floral centerpieces and lovely wedding cake decorated with white and pink peonies.Ahhh! It was simply stunning! Their outdoor ceremony was held at Laura’s family’s private estate with amazing mountain views that will take your breath away! The bride and the bridesmaids enjoyed a quiet morning at the bride’s family’s farm. The groom and the groomsmen joined them later in the day, before the ceremony started. Laura and Stephen had a few quiet moments to themselves during their first look, followed by some portrait time before the ceremony. After the ceremony was over, the guests headed to the Patrick Henry Ballroom for the reception. The bride’s sister, the maid of honor, surprised the couple with a song she had written for her toast. The song was called “Hey Stephen” (adapted from Taylor Swift’s song) and got quite a few laughs from the guests. View full post »
MACKENZIE AND CHRIS
Chris and Mackenzie’s wedding day at Sorella Farms in Evington, Virginia was absolutely stunning from start to finish! These two didn’t let a little bit of rain in the forecast scare them and as a result, they were able to enjoy the most beautiful reception together with their friends and family. We started the day at the Hampton Inn Hotel in Lynchburg, Virginia where Mackenzie and the bridesmaids had their makeup and hair done. Chris and his groomsmen were getting ready three floors above the girls’ room. From Hampton Inn, the bridal party all left together for the church in a beautiful limo that waited for them right outside the hotel. The ceremony at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church was heartfelt and sweet and the bride and groom exited the ceremony with a lavender toss. View full post »
When Kelly told me that she wanted to have her engagement photos taken at Sierra Vista in Bedford, VA I knew it was going to be amazing! Sierra Vista has one of the most spectacular mountain views I have ever seen, and the sunsets are simply breathtaking.
Kelly and Perry are such an awesome couple to work with and, after meeting them for their engagement pictures, I cannot wait to photograph their wedding at the beautiful Glencliff Manor next year! Their happiness is simply contagious. I loved the way they looked at each other the entire session. Their love for each other is one of a kind, so unique and beautiful to witness. Have I already told you how excited I am for their wedding next October?! It’s going to be amazing! View full post »

Mindy and I have been planning her maternity session for months! Knowing that she and Derek were coming to Lynchburg to visit her family, we figured it was the perfect time!
The Brooks have been one of my all time favorite people to work with! I had the honor to photograph Mindy and Derek’s wedding at Sierra Vista in Bedford, Virginia last year and I cannot tell you enough about how wonderful Mindy’s parents are. Dr. Brooks, Mindy’s dad, officiated the ceremony. I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t usually cry at weddings, but this time I had to keep wiping my tears away, that’s how beautiful and heart-felt their ceremony was.
Mindy chose to have her maternity photos taken at one of the most gorgeous locations in Lynchburg, the Old City Cemetery. Seriously, this place is incredibly beautiful all year around, even more so in the fall. But you don’t have to take my word for it, keep scrolling down and you’ll see what I mean! View full post »
