This is a big one…  dare I say, one of the most essential!  It is extremely important that you get to know your photographer well in advance before the wedding day so that you can rest assured that your photographer’s style is what you have envisioned for your big day. Want to know if we would be a good match? We might be the wedding photographers for you if… View full post »

lynchburg-wedding-photographer-alina-thomas1Kaitlin and Will were a blast to capture behind our camera sat the beautiful Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg, Virginia. They met each other 4 years ago while working in theater and instantly became close friends. After being so close for 3 years, enjoying adventures, laughter, and growing together, they realized they were meant to be together and started dating. Another 10 months down the road, Will decided it was time to make this commitment permanent and asked Kaitlin to be his bride, which she describes as the best day ever! View full post »

In today’s society, when everything is so digital, it makes sense to only purchase your digital images from you photography session, right? Well, not quite. I heard so many times about people whose computers had crashed and ALL their digital family photos were stored on the internal hard drive. What a loss! All those memories that were meant to last a lifetime are suddenly… gone! While most clients nowadays prefer to have the digital negatives and printing rights to all their images, the chances are that their USB will end up sitting in a drawer somewhere collecting dust and their digital images won’t be looked at anytime soon. I am so sad for our future generations that won’t have pictures of their family, parents, or even themselves because someone along the line never took them off a CD. Soon enough, CDs will even be obsolete!ReplyCancel

He popped the question, and you said…YES! Now it’s time to start planning for your big day! When it comes to wedding planning, two of the most-important things that a bride has to decide on are what dress to wear and which photographer to document their special day. View full post »

lynchburg-wedding-photographer-alina-thomas001This photo session took place at the beautiful wedding venue Sorella Farms, in Evington Virginia, where Emily and Ian will be getting married later this year. We had a magnificent time capturing their engagement pictures. Emily and Ian were both laid back and easy to work with. We are very excited to see this couple tying the knot and couldn’t have hoped for the shoot to be any better. Between Ian’s patriotism and Emily’s spontaneous personality, this couple has everything they need to have a happily ever after life together. View full post »

lynchburg-wedding-photographer-alina-thomas01We had the honor of being asked to do this sweet couple’s wedding photography and loved every minute of it. We have known Jesse for many years and got acquainted with Chelsea after they began their relationship. The wedding was lovely and incorporated so many things that the couple holds dear to them, such as family. Chelsea has a large family and her siblings sang for the couple at their ceremony. Her dad also did the service and melted the hearts of the audience with his passion for his daughter and this new journey in her life. It was great seeing the love Jesse’s dad has for him in being there before the wedding making sure everything was taken care of. View full post »

Memorial Day, in my opinion, is one of the most significant days celebrated in the United States and should be respected by all Americans. Nothing in this world is truly free, especially freedom. Memorial Day is a day set aside each year for Americans to remember those who served our Country in the Armed Forces to secure our Independence and Freedom. View full post »

weddings usb photographyI am really excited to share some of the new products that I have recently begun offering! These custom presentation boxes are a unique way of showcasing images for my clients. One of the positive aspects of this new product is that it offers endless possibilities in customizing the cover to feature some of the client’s best images.

We are also saying good-bye to the traditional DVD of images and embracing a more modern approach to delivering our digital files – custom USB drives. These drives are about the size of a business card and feature a picture of the client’s session on its surface. It is such a creative and unique product and my couples absolutely love it!

So excited to share these with my new couples!

I was thoroughly delighted to find these goodies in the mail at the beginning of this week! I’ve been searching around for a while now trying to find a unique product to gift my customers. I like sneaking in little treats for them as a way of saying thank you. I know they are always thrilled to get their digital files in the mail but I believe that having their images printed on something tangible just makes it a little more special. View full post »

Sorella Farms is one of my favorite wedding venues around! One of the most important decisions that you will be making for your wedding is the venue. It is the location that you will be holding the most-important day of your life at so it needs to be absolutely breathtaking. This needs to be a place that really reflects who you are as a couple and allows you to express yourself through the décor of it. It should not be a place that you choose without thought because remember, people are coming to see you and should be wowed on this day! With all of this being said, we decided to interview a venue that we believe is one of the most suitable, charming and stunning in the Central Virginia area: Sorella Farms. The following are the questions we asked Sorella as well as their answers: View full post »
